Aero the Acro-Bat Release Date Confirmed for August 2
The 1993 game Aero the Acro-Bat is making a comeback on modern consoles.
Originally developed by Iguana Entertainment and published by Sunsoft, the game will be re-released on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch on August 2, 2024. This re-release is being developed by Shinyuden and published by Ratalaika Games.
The game follows Aero, the circus’ star performer, as he sets on a mission to rescue his friends and girlfriend Ariel from the clutches of the mad industrialist Edgar Ektor. Ektor has sworn to destroy the amusement world as revenge for being banished from the circus as a child.

Aero the Acro-Bat is known for its challenging difficulty and unique gameplay mechanics, which set it apart from other games of its time. Players must use Aero’s acrobatic skills to fulfill specific objectives in each stage and open the gate to the next level. The game also features a health bar and hit points that can be replenished by collecting items throughout the stages.
The re-release will include a rewind/turbo function and cheats feature, and will be available digitally via the Nintendo eShop on August 2, 2024.
We haven’t played this OG game before and are looking forward to experiencing the classic platformer on modern consoles.
