Nightdive Studios, known for remastering classic video games, has announced its latest project – a definitive edition of the relatively obscure title, PO’ed. Perhaps more surprisingly, they’ve chosen this over the much-rumored and desired remaster of the cult classic SHOGO: Mobile Armor Division. Here’s the original confirmation from the studio –

Besides, on the day (April Fool’s Day) Nightdive’s unexpected decision to remaster this game was made official instead of fan favorite SHOGO, and a few eyebrows were expected to rise.
Nightdive Studios has a reputation for breathing life back into vintage gaming titles.
They have made their name in the gaming industry by working on remasters like Turok and System Shock. However, why they’ve selected PO’ed for a modern refresh over SHOGO remains a mystery that has confused us.
However, as we noted earlier, the timing of this announcement might be part of a big April Fools’ Day prank. After all, spending resources on a niche game like PO’ed instead of the fan-favorite SHOGO seems fishy.
