Hoyo is Cooking with Free Anniversary Rewards

The latest Livestream for Hoyoverse’s 5.0 update had us thrilled when we first heard all about the big announcements and generous rewards that are sure to make the game even more enjoyable.

Let’s go over all the free rewards revealed in the live stream, along with some extra details that weren’t mentioned in it.

Free Rewards Announced in 5.0

1. Free Five-Star Character: The unusual reveal was a free five-star character as an anniversary reward. This is something many fans, including myself, thought would never happen. Not only will players get a five-star character this anniversary, but this will happen every year. This means one new five-star character every anniversary — a big win for us.
2. Additional Four-Star Characters: Besides the free five-star character, three more four-star characters will be given away in the 5.0 update:
   • Kachina: She will join your squad at the start of the Natlan Archon Quest, continuing Hoyoverse’s tradition of giving a free four-star character with new regions.
   • Bennett: Rumored to be a free reward from a world quest, Bennett is expected to be confirmed later by Hoyo.
3. Free Four-Star Weapon: The main event in version 5.0 will feature a free four-star weapon. Details are limited right now, nonetheless, it’s another welcome addition.
4. 115 Free Pulls: You will also get over 115 free pulls in the 5.0 update. This large number of free pulls could mean another five-star character for your team.
5. Login Event and In-Game Mail Rewards:
   • 10 Free Pulls: Available through a special login event.
   • 1,600 Primogems: These will be sent via in-game mail, another generous reward to look forward to.
6. Free Pet and Gadget: You will also receive a free pet and a gadget, although more details on these items were briefly mentioned.

Quality of Life Improvements and Hidden Rewards

• Artifact Stat Selector: The long-awaited artifact stat selector is finally here. You can get one from the battle pass and another as part of the anniversary rewards. Although at this time it’s unclear if the selector will be available after the anniversary, I’m expecting it to be tied to the battle pass.
• Banner Changes:
  • Win Rate Adjustments: The win rate for the Gacha pull has been improved. Instead of a 50/50 chance, we’re expecting it to be more favorable, like 60/40 or even 55/45.
  • Weapon Banner: The Fate point requirement for the weapon banner has been reduced from 2 to 1, making it easier to get the desired weapon.

Hoyoverse’s 5.0 update has set a new standard for anniversary celebrations.

From free 5-star characters to various four-star units, weapons, and other rewards, the upcoming update offers plenty of gifts for all players. It’s clear that competition from other games, like Wuthering Waves, and Zenless Zone Zero has pushed Hoyoverse to greatly improve the player experience.
