How to Use Aalto in Wuthering Waves?
Did you just pull Aalto and wonder how to use him at his full potential?
In this quick guide, I’ll show you:
- What Aalto’s skills do
- How to use them the best way
- Tips to make Aalto super strong in fights
Whether you’re new to the game or have been playing for a while, this guide will help you beat in-game bosses using Aalto.
Let’s get started –
Aalto’s Skills in Detail
Basic Attacks
Aalto’s basic attacks have a unique aspect:
- 4th Basic Attack: Creates Mist, a crucial mechanic for Aalto’s skill set.
- 5th Basic Attack: Deals significant damage, so try to avoid canceling this attack if possible.
Heavy Attacks
There isn’t much notable about Aalto’s heavy attacks in his main kit. However, they can come into play with Sequence 6.
Sequence 6
Aalto’s Sequence 6 skill is akin to Ganyu in Genshin Impact. It involves:
- Moving backwards.
- Creating a clone.
- Generating Mist Bullets that target enemies.
This skill is great for maintaining safety while dealing with damage.
Ultimate
Aalto’s ultimate skill:
- Creates a gate.
- Deals damage.
- Bullets shot through the gate do additional damage.
Crucial Mechanics
Mist
Mist is a key mechanic for Aalto and can be created through:
- The 4th basic attack.
- Successfully dodging an enemy attack.
When you basic attack or perform a mid-air attack through Mist, you gain Mist Drops, up to a total of 6. Moreover, you should note that mid-air attacks are generally avoided as they are unmanageable and generate Mist Drops slower.
Mistcloak Dash
To use Mist Drops, perform a Mistcloak Dash by dashing through Mist. This converts the Mist Drops into 6 Mist Missiles that home in on nearby targets. In a combat scenario:
- Create Mist.
- Gain Mist Drops.
- Use Mistcloak Dash to release the Mist Missiles.
Be mindful that Mistcloak Dash takes about a second to generate all 6 Mist Missiles, so avoid canceling the dash too early. For efficiency, I would like you to cancel your dash with a basic attack and then swap.
Combat Strategy
Against Melee Enemies
- Create Mist and a clone.
- Follow up by shooting through the gate to buff your damage.
- Gain Mist Drops and perform a Mistcloak Dash to use the Mist Missiles.
- Keep dashing backward using Mistcloak Dash by clicking the “back” direction immediately after dashing into Mist.
Against Ranged Enemies
- Use your dash to reposition around the enemy instead of kiting away.
- Remember that your dash can avoid projectiles and generate Mist.
- Use Mist generation to continually reposition and gain an advantage in combat.
Character Swaps
Wuthering Waves supports multi-character teams. You can weave in character swaps to maximize efficiency:
- Use Aalto’s full burst to deal damage.
- Swap to a melee unit when enemies get close and use their skills.
- Swap back to Aalto to maintain Mist generation and damage output.
